Why it matters
Portable extinguishers are often the first line of defence — but only if they're the right type, in the right place and fully charged.
Six-monthly servicing catches lost pressure, damage, blocked access and missing units before they become a problem on the day.

FAQ
Fire Extinguishers: common questions
Can't see your question? Call 07 3916 4344 and talk to the team.
How often do fire extinguishers need servicing?
Under AS 1851, portable fire extinguishers are inspected six-monthly, with pressure testing and overhaul at longer intervals depending on the extinguisher type.
Which type of extinguisher do we need?
It depends on the hazards. Electrical equipment, flammable liquids, cooking oils and ordinary combustibles each call for the right agent. We'll recommend types and locations for your site.
What if an extinguisher has been used?
Any extinguisher that's been discharged — even partly — needs servicing or replacing. We can do either.
