See the fault before it fails
An infrared scan shows loose connections and overloaded circuits running hot — while everything stays switched on.

Queensland testing intervals
Test and tag and safety switches, by class of work
Queensland's Electrical Safety Regulation 2026 replaced the 2013 regulation on 1 September 2026. WorkSafe Queensland says it doesn't add new obligations — the intervals below still depend on your class of work.
Queensland compliance guide →| Class of work | Equipment | Test interval |
|---|---|---|
| Construction | Transportable structures, fixed and transportable equipment | 6 months |
| Construction | Other equipment | 3 months |
| Manufacturing | Double insulated | 12 months |
| Manufacturing | Not double insulated | 6 months |
| Service work | Not protected by a safety switch | 12 months |
| Office work | Not protected by a safety switch | 5 years |

How often do we need test and tag?
It depends on your class of work. WorkSafe Queensland's intervals range from three months for some construction equipment to five years for office equipment that isn't protected by a safety switch. We'll confirm which class applies to you.
Will RCD testing cut the power?
Trip-time testing briefly cuts power to each protected circuit. We plan the order and timing with you to keep disruption low.
How often does emergency lighting need testing?
AS/NZS 2293.2 calls for a discharge test every six months, where each fitting must run on battery for its rated duration — at least 90 minutes — plus additional yearly checks.
Do you need to shut the power down?
No. Scans are done while equipment is running under normal load, which is when problems are visible.
Do you offer 24/7 call-out?
Yes, for existing Hot Shots clients. Our 24/7 priority call-out covers urgent fire and electrical issues at client sites in Brisbane, the Gold Coast, the Sunshine Coast and Toowoomba. A call-out fee applies. For a fire or any life-threatening emergency, always call 000 first.
