What we look after

Every system that keeps your building safe — and running

From the detector on the ceiling to the board in the plant room: tested, maintained and documented by one team, to the standards Queensland sets.

Why one team

Two contractors means twice the coordination. We take it off your desk.

Most commercial sites run a fire contractor and a separate electrician — two inductions, two schedules, two sets of paperwork, and a grey area wherever the trades overlap. Hot Shots has both trades in-house, so your compliance runs on one plan.

Two separate contractors

One team that already knows your site

Two companies' reports to chase
One team's reports, with fire records online
Shared items
Emergency lighting and fire system power fall between trades
One team accountable end to end
Defects

One quote, one fix, one follow-up

Where the two trades meet

Emergency & exit lighting

It’s part of your building’s fire safety, but the work is electrical — so it often falls between contractors. We test it to AS/NZS 2293.2 and report it with the rest of your fire compliance.

Compliance calendar

Your compliance year, on one schedule

Fire and electrical obligations run on different clocks — monthly, six-monthly, yearly, and intervals set by your class of work. We build them into one schedule for your site, so nothing lapses between contractors.

We walk the site, list every fire and electrical asset, and check where your records are up to.

FAQ

Common questions

Can't see your question? Call 07 3916 4344 and talk to the team.

Can one contractor really handle both our fire and electrical compliance?

Yes — that's why Hot Shots exists. Both trades are in-house, so fire protection servicing to AS 1851 and electrical testing, maintenance and repairs are planned, carried out and reported by one team.

How often do fire safety installations need servicing in Queensland?

Queensland's Building Fire Safety Regulation requires prescribed fire safety installations to be maintained at the intervals in the Queensland Development Code (MP 6.1), which calls up AS 1851. In practice that's routines from monthly to yearly and five-yearly, depending on the system. We'll map the schedule for your site.

Is test and tag a legal requirement for Queensland workplaces?

For many workplaces, yes. The Electrical Safety Regulation 2026 sets intervals for specified electrical equipment by class of work — from three months for some construction equipment to five years for some office equipment. We'll confirm which applies to you.

Can you supply the records for our annual occupier statement?

Your fire servicing records and certificates are kept in your customer portal, so the maintenance information your occupier statement relies on is in one place when it's due.

Do you work on homes or residential properties?

No. Hot Shots works with business, commercial and industrial clients only.

Do you offer 24/7 call-out?

Yes, for existing Hot Shots clients. Our 24/7 priority call-out covers urgent fire and electrical issues at client sites in all four regions, including Toowoomba. A call-out fee applies. For a fire or any life-threatening emergency, always call 000 first.

What does a free onsite quote involve?

We visit the site, review your fire and electrical assets and existing records, and send one clear quote covering what's needed. The visit and quote are free with no obligation — servicing, repairs, parts and installations are then charged as quoted.
